Both areas have seen significant and sustained growth in sales and the appointments have been made to ensure that customers continue to receive the high level of support they have come to expect from Aviagen. Tore Mercan, who previously held the role of Indian River Commercial and Technical Manager in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, takes over from Neil Clark with his new position.

Neil Clark

Commenting on Neil Clark’s arrival, Michael Garden, Business Manager MEA, said: “We are delighted to welcome Neil to the team. This change continues to support Aviagen’s position on internal development as we continue to grow and look to the future.

“Neil’s experience with the wider management teams of Aviagen LLC in the CIS and Aviagen Kft in Central and Eastern Europe will be invaluable in the dynamic markets of the Middle East and Africa.”

Neil Clark added: “I am looking forward to meeting and providing support to our customers and I am excited about opportunities to make a difference to their business. I can’t wait to get started.”

Tore Mercan

Tyark Osterndorff, Business Development Director at Aviagen said of Tore Mercan’s appointment: “Of course, it is sad for us to see Neil go but in Tore we have a great replacement.

“Tore’s experience of fast growing and challenging market conditions is just what we need for the rapidly expanding Eastern European & CIS poultry industry. Tore will be leading a young and ambitious technical service team with a special focus on the Russian market.”

Mr Clark has worked in a variety of roles for Aviagen over more than 20 years, including pedigree selection, production management and technical services.

Mr Mercan has been with Aviagen for more than 14 years and held roles in production management and technical services. He joined Aviagen in 1998 as Head of Technical Service for Turkey until 2006 when he was promoted to Technical Service Manager for the UK and Western Europe.

They both officially began their new roles with effect from 1 January 2014.
