06 February 2014

INDIA - Prices of poultry feed increased this week, following an uptrend in prices of key ingredients over the last few days.

Higher input costs led feed prices upwards, trade expert Aditya Mishra told The Hindu Business Line. Higher soyameal prices mainly pushed feed prices up, he said. Prices of feed products have increased by ?30-40 for a 50-kg bag.

In the physical market, after witnessing a downtrend in recent past, soyameal improved by ?1,300 to ?35,000 a tonne, while bajra remained unchanged at ?13,000 a quintal.

Di-calcium phosphate moved up marginally by 10 paise to ?34.80 a kg, while maize gained ?40 at ?1,500 a quintal. DRB went up by ?300 to ?8,700, rice bran oil was unchanged at ?54 a kg, MBM was at ?44 while mustard de-oiled cake decreased by ?150 to ?14,600 a tonne.

Pre-lay mash moved up by ?40 to ?1,050. Layer concentrate 25 per cent and Layer concentrate 35 per cent improved by ?40 each to ?1,490 and at ?1,175 respectively. Broiler concentrate improved by ?30 to ?2,040 for a 50-kg bag.

Meanwhile, poultry products dropped on ample stocks and reduced offtake on Wednesday. Broiler went down by ?2 to ?74-76 a kg, egg eased by 10 paise and was at ?3.28, while chick went for ?25-26, ?2 down.
