Source of Bird Flu in Odisha Wild Birds Remains a Mystery17 March 2014
INDIA - In February, the government of India (GOI) notified the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) that two house crows tested positive for H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in the state of Odisha.
The notification said that the infected premises/establishment(s) has been disinfected, but the source of the infection is currently unknown. The document added that the event is still under investigation and weekly reports will be submitted. The GOI declared freedom from HPAI in November 2013.

Regarding transboundary issues, the Ministry of Agriculture has recently issued an advisory to select Indian border states on control measures that should be followed in response to a HPAI outbreak in Nepal.
