Bomet Women and Youth Empowerment Organisation, which is part of Joyful Women Organisation, has started a partnership with the Bradegate Poultry Industries in Nyeri county, reports The Star of Kenya.

The group officials led by Cecilia Ng’etich, the Bomet women representative and Evans Kipkoech, the youth leader from Bomet have visited Nyeri. The visit was a follow up of another early last year, which was led by organisation patron, Rachael Ruto, to the farm.

Ms Ng’etich said they are working on youth and women empowerment programme of more than 3,000 members.

She said: “Currently most youths want to engage in white collar jobs and they are inadequate. They should look for projects that don’t take much time to give returns as they can engage in more than one activity at the same time such as poultry farming.”

The officials were hosted by proprietor of the industry, Thuo Mathenge.
