Weekend Will Bring Higher Poultry Feed Costs

INDIA - Following an uptrend in prices of key ingredients over the last few days, poultry feeds are all set to turn dearer by the weekend.

Poultry-feed prices ruled unchanged this week, despite an uptrend in prices of a few of the key ingredients, trade expert Aditya Mishra told the Hindu Times. Prices may increase by Rupees 500-2,000 a tonne, for different feed products.

According to the Hindu Times, in the physical market, soyameal improved by Rupees 400 to Rupees 43,700 a tonne, while bajra (pearl millet) went up by Rupees 600 to Rupees 14,100. Di-calcium phosphate rose by 10 paise to Rupees 36.90 a kg, while maize moved by Rupees 20 to Rupees 1,540 a quintal.

Rice bran oil quoted at Rupees 56/kg, MBM went up by Rupees 2.60 to Rupees 47, while mustard de-oiled cake ruled at Rupees 16,500 a tonne, Rupees 900 up.

Layer concentrate 25 per cent sold at Rupees 1,535 while Layer concentrate 35 per cent was at Rupees 1,215. Broiler concentrate quoted at Rupees 2,175 for a 50-kg bag.

Broiler improved by Rupees 1 to Rupees 66/kg; egg went up 16 paise to Rupees 2.52 while chick went for Rupees 15-17, Rupees 2 up.
