No New Bird Flu Cases Found in California
CALIFORNIA, US - Surveillance has revealed no new cases of H5 low-pathogenic avian influenza following the initial outbreak a week ago.

By: The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 1 dated 29 April to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
According to information available on 28 April 2014, an Incident Command Post and an Incident Management Team have been established.
Depopulation of birds (quail and Pekin ducks) and removal and disposal of eggs on affected premises have been completed.
Follow-up surveillance and testing for influenza A virus (IAV) on the two epidemiologically associated farms were negative for the virus.
A Cleaning and Disinfection (C&D) plan for the affected premises is being developed.
The joint United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) epidemiological investigation and response to the event are continuing.
