Higher Input Costs Lift Poultry Feed

INDIA - Prices of poultry-feed increased this week following an uptrend in prices of key ingredients over the last few days.

Higher input costs pushed feed prices, said Aditya Mishra, a trade expert to The Hindu Business Line. Costlier soyameal mainly pushed feed prices up, he said. Prices of feed products increased by Rs. 30-110 for a 50-kg bag.

Soyameal improved by Rs. 1,700 to Rs. 45,400 a tonne, while bajra went down by Rs. 100 and sold at Rs. 14,000.

Di-calcium phosphate went up by Rs. 1.90 and sold at Rs. 38.80 a kg, while maize sold at Rs. 1,400 a quintal.

Rice bran oil was quoted at Rs. 56/kg, MBM went down by Rs. 1 to Rs. 46, DRB at Rs. 10,000 while mustard de-oiled cake was at Rs. 16,100 a tonne, Rs. 400 down.

Prices of Layer concentrate 25 per cent and Layer concentrate 35 per cent went up by Rs. 30 and sold at Rs. 1,565 and at Rs. 1,245 respectively.

Prices of Pre-starter mash improved by Rs. 60 and sold at Rs. 1,735 while Broiler concentrate moved up by Rs. 110 and quoted at Rs. 2,285 for a 50-kg bag.

Broiler improved by Rs. 10 and was at Rs. 76/kg; egg went up 18 paise and was at Rs. 2.70; chick went for Rs. 16-17, Rs. 1 up.
