The expansion of the Herveld farm – the hub of Cobb pedigree breeding in Europe – is the latest move in increasing the company’s global research and development programme.

“These are exciting times for Cobb in our region,” said Roy Mutimer, general manager of Cobb Europe.

“Expanding and renovating Herveld has transformed Herveld into a world-class facility, and our expanded research and development team will deliver accelerated genetic progress to all our customers.

“With the equally impressive investments in our European great grandparent facilities, we have an operation to ensure continuity and quality of supply to Europe, Middle East, Africa and markets beyond.”

Alongside the investment is a campaign across Western Europe to highlight the key role of the Cobb500 broiler breeder in the global poultry industry.

The Cobb500 has long been the world’s most popular broiler achieving number one status in the largest chicken markets.

“We believe it’s important for our customers to have not only the most efficient broiler but technical support that is second to none,” said Euan Meldrum, marketing manager for Cobb Europe. “We’re committed to building strong, trusting relationships with our customers and supporting them all along the way.”
