Israel Reports Six New Newcastle Disease Outbreaks

ISRAEL - Six outbreaks of Newcastle disease in the last month have affected 56,416 poultry in several regions.

The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 5 dated 28 May to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The report outlines six new outbreaks of Newcastle disease since the previous report one month ago.

Between 30 April and 25 May, the six outbreaks resulted in the deaths of 1,184 birds and 51,732 were destroyed.

The outbreaks occurred in the regions of Hazafon, Hadarom, Hamakaz and Haifa and affected chickens (breeders, chicks and layers) as well as turkeys in commercial and backyard flocks.
