No Big Change in Poultry Feed Prices

INDIA - Feed prices have been flat in the last week, while prices for broiler meat and eggs rose.

Despite a downtrend in prices of key ingredients, poultry feed prices remained unchanged this week, reports The Hindu Business Line.

Aditya Mishra, a commodity expert, told the newspaper that prices of a few ingredients have dropped but there has been no major impact on the cost of production.

After witnessing a price rise earlier this month, feed prices have been ruling unchanged since then and it may continue to rule around current levels even in the coming days, he said.

In the physical market, soybean meal improved by INR200 and sold at INR43,200 a tonne, while pearl millet (bajra) went for INR14,000 a tonne. Maize sold at INR1,400 a quintal. Rice bran oil was at INR56 a kilo, DCP was at INR32.80, MBM went up by INR1.50 and was at INR48.50, DRB went down by INR150 to INR9,650 while mustard de-oiled cake dropped by INR200 and was at INR15,600 a tonne.

Layer concentrate 25 per cent sold at INR1,565 while layer concentrate 35 per cent was at INR1,245. Pre-starter mash was INR1,735 while broiler concentrate quoted at INR2,285 for a 50-kg bag.

Broiler improved by INR2 to INR80 per kilo, eggs went up by 32 paise to INR2.80, while the chick price was INR11 – down INR4, Business Line reported.
