Over 20 technical managers, representing Ross Parent Stock (PS) distributors from Turkey as well as Middle Eastern and African countries, attended an event which also saw new Regional Technical Manager Neil Clark chair the first of these meetings.

The three-day programme included updates on the latest technical information, performance benchmarking and distributor updates, where each customer talked to the whole group about the performance levels, opportunities and technical approach in the markets they represent.

Each of the delegates was provided with a tablet, preloaded with the programme and all the latest Ross technical literature.

Speakers included Dr Pavel Shkarlat, who gave a very detailed and interactive case study on some field health related topics. During this exercise the teams broke into mixed groups and investigated the problems, agreed an action plan and reported their finding back to their colleagues. Michael Longley from the Aviagen Global Technical Transfer team joined the meeting for the first time; this allowed Michael to hear first hand the local issues country by country and gather ideas for future technical publications.

Other speakers included Dr Tolga Erkus who led a practical workshop on turning angles in the hatchery. Colin Russell provided an extremely informative paper on the process of auditing and evaluating a hatchery from a biosecurity perspective.

There was also a chance to get a detailed look at the new broiler nutrition specifications which will be released shortly.

Mr Clark commented: "It was great to welcome everyone to this event, my first as Regional Technical Manager. As always, these meetings are a great place to get together and share experiences as well as get the latest updates on developments and performance. The real life case studies really tested each person’s knowledge and problem solving powers and were well received by the group."
