Salmonella-contaminated Poultry Sent to Military Bases

US – Shipments of salmonella infected chicken may have been received by military bases and commissaries in five states, say federal agriculture officials.

Tainted chicken has been shipped to Alaska, California, Nevada, Hawaii and Washington, updated distribution lists have said.

NBC News reports that infected chicken, which has contaminated over 600 people in the past year, has also been sold at Costco, Food 4 Less, Kroger and Food Maxx.

Total infections, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data, is at 621 people in 29 US states and Puerto Rico.
