India to Launch TV Channel for Farmers

INDIA - India will soon launch dedicated television channel for farmers, Indian finance minister, Arun Jaitley said while announcing the 2014-15 annual budget, writes Jagdish Kumar.

The channel will be set up with an investment of US$17 million.

While presenting budget in the lower house of parliament, Minister Jailtley said, Kisan (farmer) TV, dedicated to the interests of the agriculture and allied sector will be launched in the current financial year.

This will disseminate real-time information to the farmers regarding new farming techniques, water conservation and farming.
