JBS Foods will take over two poultry processing units, including two feed mills and three hatcheries, located in Guapiaçu and Itapetininga, both in the state of São Paulo, with a capacity to slaughter 330,000 birds per day.

The company mainly services the major export markets.

JBS said that the acquisition represents an important step in JBS Foods’ strategy to increase its presence in key international markets for poultry and to strengthen company's position in the main Brazilian consumer market.

The total price to be paid to Céu Azul Group will be approximately R$246 million.

The deal is subject to certain conditions, including the approval by the competent authorities.
