Rosselkhoznadzor Slaps Ban on Poultry Meat En Route to Kyrgyzstan

KYRGYZSTAN - The Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision of RF (Rosselkhoznadzor) slaps a ban on bringing a large batch of poultry meat through the Russian Federation, en route to Kyrgyzstan from USA.

According to the agency, such facts as poor sanitary condition of containers, violation of integrity of goods packing were revealed within the inspection. Similar requirements are violated in transport vehicle.

Citing ITAR-TASS, 24kg reports that there were traces of defrost on some part of goods.

According to the ageny's statement: "Poultry meat, produced in the United States, imported into Russia from Lithuania transit to Kyrgyzstan. Rosselkhoznadzor found out, that veterinary certificates of the United States lack information on epizootic welfare of production output place, safety and eatability.

"In addition, the production date, indicated on the label, does not match the information of veterinary certificates."
