INDIA - Germany based poultry management company, Big Dutchman’s India arm BD Agriculture India has bagged an order to set up 150,000-bird layer farm in Uttar Pradesh state, writes Jagdish Kumar.
The company signed a memorandum of understanding on 16 October, 2014 at the 2nd edition of Poultry Tech Expo 2014 held in Kurukshetra in Haryana state.
Speaking to 5m Publishing, BD Agriculture India official said that the plant will be operational in the next four months and will come up in western part of the state.
The official did not reveal the scale of order and the company which signed the contract. However the official said that the MoU was signed by Philip Dye, managing director of BD Agriculture India.
The order includes layer cage system, manure removal system, hall ventilation system for summer and winter, egg collection system, Viper control system, inlet system, lighting system, feed chain system, others.
The plant will be set up with company expertise from Malaysia and Germany.
The BD official said that they will not be supplying the egg collection system, as it was not included in the contract but they help integrate other company systems in their setups, if asked by the client.
"Our systems are state-of-the-art for poultry houses in India and has been acknowledged globally," the BD official added.
The company operates from its Hyderabad-based 10,000-square metre facility.
Poultry Tech Expo was organised in Haryana that saw participation from close to 100 companies from all over the country focusing North India.
Over 10,000 farmers, poultry traders, professionals from the sector visited the Expo.
