One of a series being conducted around the world with key industry leaders, producers and farmers, this innovative educational meeting focused on key objectives of producers and how the company is aligning its resources to achieve common goals.

Among the most relevant topics, were industry needs – from a local managerial approach, to the global trends, highlighting how opportunities and challenges from countries around the world are relevant in Latin America. Producers were inspired by the discussion of generating value through linking production and processing.

The High Quality Poultry Congress was divided into two sessions. The first, focused on the company’s “Go Beyond” program, which works to educate producers on better ways of production cost reduction, better uniformity of flocks, enhanced carcass quality and food safety to generate value for the operations.

The second session of the program addressed the “Convenience” program which focuses on process and performance improvement in respiratory health for a healthier start from the hatchery. As an example of the information shared at the HQPC meeting, a detailed epidemiologic report of the Infectious Bronchitis challenge in Latin America was presented, followed by a discussion of the best formulas to protect flock respiratory health.

Participants learned about opportunities to broader support flock health through the company’s PROTECTOTYPE™ concept using the Infectious Bronchitis vaccines NOBILIS® IB 4/91 and NOBILIS IB Ma5, the INNOVAX®ND and other Newcastle live vaccines as the NOBILIS NDC2 or the NOBILIS NDClone 30. In addition, MSD Animal Health introduced the “Convenience Audit”, an innovative vaccination and chick quality audit program focused on improving process and performance.

Throughout the meeting, it was clear that value generation perceived by poultry producers is the key to developing strong “win-win” long-term relationships. The true jewels of the HQPC program were the presentations made by poultry producers themselves who have already experienced the value generation and the return on their investments of the programs.

“We are responsible and committed to creative and innovative solutions that generate value, support return on investment, and develop long-term, endearing relationships with poultry producers,” stated Luis Etcharren, MSD Animal Health Poultry Team. “This meeting further helps to reinforce that MSD Animal Health is the worldwide leader on poultry solutions and we are committed to working with our industry partners to deliver the value-add programs that they need when they need them.”
