The British Poultry Council Annual Awards celebrated outstanding achievements and potential for excellence in the British poultry industry.

The winners - chosen by an expert judging panel - were presented with their certificates and medals by the BPC Chairman John Reed and Anne McIntosh MP, Chairperson of the Environment Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee.

Mr Huston oversees Moy Park’s Breeder and Hatcheries operations, liaising with Moy Park’s growers and hatcheries in the UK. Alan is also responsible for the supply of parent stock to Europe and broiler hatching eggs to customers in the UK and the Middle East.

Commenting on his achievement, Mr Huston said: “I was thrilled to be invited to the House of Commons to accept an award for my work in the poultry industry and with Moy Park. It was a complete surprise to be nominated for this award – let alone to be named the winner! It is an honour and a privilege to be recognised by my peers within the industry.”

David Gibson, Director of Agriculture said, “We are delighted that Alan has continued the tradition of Moy Park employees being recognised for their outstanding contribution to the poultry industry. He has shown continued commitment to achieving excellence in his role as General Manager, Breeders & Hatcheries, and has played a key role in expanding Moy Park’s export opportunities around the world.”

Speaking about the importance of the awards, BPC Chairman John Reed said: “These awards continue to be a great platform to showcase the real talent that lies at the heart of the industry. This year is no exception and I have been amazed at the positive contribution all the winners have made in order to receive these great accolades.”
