Andhra Pradesh tops in brackish and fresh water shrimp production, is second in fresh water fish production and fourth in marine fish production in the country, reports TheHindu.

With the Chief Minister drawing up plans to make Andhra Pradesh a marine processing hub, the state aims to reach 40 per cent of India’s total production of high valued fish and shellfish from the current level of 20 per cent.

Mr Naidu will also highlight prospects of working together on establishing fishing harbours, cold chain infrastructure, pre-processing facilities and value-added production facilities.

In the agriculture and food processing sector, the minister said he will explore opportunities on agri export zones, agri equipment, mega food parks, cold chain infrastructure, commercial dairy farming and dairy processing units.
