The Dominican Poultry Association has arranged a 2.5 pesos discount per pound liveweight as a means of stabilising production and balancing supply.

Minister of Agriculture, Angel Estevez, said it was the first time in history that poultry producers had agreed to a reduction poultry prices.

The move takes the price from 31 pesos 50 cents to 29 pesos per pound.

All players in the supply chain are expected to pass the reduction onto the consumer.
