Viet Nam Reports High-path Avian Flu in Village Poultry
VIET NAM - Highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 has been identified as the cause of an outbreak of the disease in a village poultry flock in the south of the country.In Follow-up Report No.5 dated 25 February to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), the veterinary authority reports a new outbreak of highly pathogenic avian flu in poultry.
The outbreak started on 23 February at Ap 1 in the Ke Sach district of Soc Trang province. Around one hundred of the 1,110-bird flock died; the rest have been destroyed.
