Alarm Sounded on 'Collapse' of Spain Chicken Meat Production

SPAIN - The Union of Small Farmers and Ranchers has sounded the alarm about the widespread declines in the production of chicken meat.

According to the European Union the EU produced 35 per cent less chicken than 12 months earlier.

Prices remain between €2.15 and €2.18/kg., while the average cost of production is, according Price Observatory of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, at 2.70 euros / kg.
