The seminar was initiated to support the growing performance and reputation of Arbor Acres Plus in the domestic market and will be the start of a series of events over the next 18 months designed to transfer technical information and encourage customer visits within the market.

The one day seminar attracted more than 100 people from the surrounding industry and was opened by the General Manager of MPG, Dr Khaled Mostafa who welcomed the audience, the international and local speakers and wished everyone a successful gathering. The subjects were carefully selected to cover a number of important topics like the latest commercial update of the Arbor Acres and its global activities, nutrition, biosecurity and detailed hands on management of the bird.

The renowned speaker from the Cairo Agricultural Research Centre, Dr Sayyed Shalash, highlighted the important nutrition needs of Arbor Acres breeders. Puzant Dakessian, International Commercial Manager from Arbor Acres followed with an update on recent regional support activities and a global commercial overview of the brand. Next was a presentation on the important subject of bio-security and regional diseases by Dr Zoltan Marton, Arbor Acres Veterinarian with simultaneous translation by Dr. Mohammad Hammoud the Technical Director of Cairo Poultry. Andre Costa, Technical Services Manager, Arbor Acres followed with an emphasis on managing persistency in rearing to maintain good productivity in lay. Mr Costa's talk was also directly translated into Arabic by Engineer Ahmad Gamal the Technical Services Manager from MPG. The day was concluded with a presentation on practical steps to avoid floor eggs by Dr Mohammad Al Manawy from the University of Cairo.

The seminar successfully laid the foundation for an industry school to be held later in the year in full cooperation and collaboration with CPC/MPG to assist the transfer of knowledge and management practices to local customer technical and production teams. MPG has invested in customer support and has built an experienced technical service team which includes Dr. Mohamed Kamel, Eng. Ezzat Abd Allah, Eng. Ahmed Gamal and Eng. Yaser El Deeb whose primary responsibility is to ensure customers achieve good performance with Arbor Acres.

Mr Dakessian commented: “We are very encouraged by the good response and attendance we experienced in Mansoura. The time is right for a more comprehensive event like an Arbor Acres School later in the year to fully assist our customers and their production teams to optimise bird performance and realise the full genetic potential available from the broiler.”

Dr Mostafa said: “Misr Poultry Grandparents in cooperation with Arbor Acres have historically been devoted to elevating the poultry management standards in our country. We have been conducting local road shows and seminars for a very long time now and would like to continue this mission in the future to convey the most recent technologies of this industry to customers in Egypt.”
