The new broiler hatchery is located east of the capital, Nouakchott.

For many years, the Ouakkaha group has exported broiler chicks to Mauritania. With this new investment, they can not only supply Mauritania with local chicks but also neighbouring Mali. The hatchery will produce about 135,000 chicks per week.

El Hafid Ouakkaha, Director of the Ouakkaha group, explained: “We are extremely satisfied with the Petersime machines we have in our hatcheries in Morocco. Because achieving the best quality is very important for us, we decided once more to use Petersime equipment for our newest hatchery in Mauritania.”
