EFSA has concluded the product is safe for target animals, consumers and the environment. It is also effective to enhance the performance of chickens for fattening, chickens reared for laying and other avian species used for meat production, when a reduced protein diet is provided.

CIBENZA EP150 is a feed additive containing a protease enzyme produced by fermentation of a single strain of naturally-occurring Bacillus licheniformis in combination with spores of the production strain. Formulating diets with CIBENZA EP150 will allow producers to enhance the digestibility of a broad range of protein sources, thereby allowing flexibility in their utilization and reduction of dietary protein level.

Uwe Ranft, Area General Manager, Europe & Middle East at Novus, commented: “The positive conclusions from EFSA on CIBENZA EP150 demonstrate Novus´s innovation capabilities and confirm its commitment to delivering solutions for sustainable animal production.”

Following EFSA’s scientific opinion, final EU registration for CIBENZA EP150 is anticipated in the coming months. The opinion is accessible by clicking here.
