VIET NAM - Highly pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N6 variant has affected a village poultry flock in Northern Viet Nam.
Follow-up Report No.1 dated 6 April from the Vietnamese veterinary authority to the World Organisation from Animal Health (OIE) records one new outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in poultry.
The outbreak was in Dinh in the province of Nghe An. It started on 2 April and led to the loss of the whole flock of 318 birds.
The presence of the H5N6 subtype of the virus has been confirmed.
