Across the three premises, there were 1596 deaths out of a susceptible population of 5447. The remaining birds have not yet been destroyed.

The outbreaks were of the H5N1 strain.

The infected premises included one farm with layers over 20 weeks old, one backyard broiler operation and one backyard operation with both broilers and turkeys.

On the mixed operation, only the broilers were affected and turkeys remained unaffected.

Stamping out measures are yet to be applied, but movement controls, disinfection, quarantine and disposal of products have already been applied.
