    Layers Affected in Latest Nigerian Bird Flu Outbreak

    NIGERIA - Over one thousand birds have been destroyed in the latest highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak detected in Nigeria.

    The outbreak, on a farm in the Rivers area, also directly caused 181 deaths in the layers.

    Movement controls, quarantines and stamping out measures are being implemented.
