Welsh Poultry Conference to Focus on Avian Flu Threat

WALES, UK - The NFU Cymru annual Poultry Conference will be taking place on Tuesday 20 October at the NFU Cymru office, Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd.

Those present will be addressed by Professor Christianne Glossop, Chief Veterinary Officer for Wales. Christianne will specifically cover how biosecurity plans can be adapted, discuss the threat of avian influenza (AI) to Welsh poultry farmers and outline the lessons learnt as a result of past outbreaks.

Gary Ford, NFU Chief Poultry Adviser, will outline the work of the NFU on behalf of poultry producers and discuss any policy developments affecting the sector. Emyr Jones will also provide a feed price situation update from Wynnstay plc.

Clare Morgan, NFU Cymru Poultry Group Chairman said, “We have an excellent line up of speakers once again and we are most grateful to all of them for agreeing to attend this conference.
