VIET NAM - There has been another outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in Viet Nam.

By: The outbreak was of the H5N6 serotype, and affected backyard birds on a farm in Lao Cai province.
There were 800 deaths out of the 1800 birds infected. The remaining 1000 birds were destroyed to prevent the disease spreading.
