More Bird Flu Found in Nigeria's Rivers Area

NIGERIA - Another outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza has been reported in the Rivers area of southern Nigeria.

There were 310 deaths on a farm of 2100 birds. The remaining birds were destroyed to prevent the disease spreading.

The disease was of the H5N1 serotype and affected 28-week-old layers.
