Farmed Ducks Hit by Bird Flu in South Korea

SOUTH KOREA - There have been three outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza in meat ducks in South Korea.

The outbreak was of the H5N8 serotype, and occurred on three farms in Jeollanam-Do province.

Over 70,000 birds were left susceptible to disease on the farms, but no birds died.

South Korea's report to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) said that the veterinary authority is still implementing epidemiological survey.
