US - Perdue Farms is expanding its 'No Antibiotics Ever' line of products to include all food-service turkey products and many fresh, refrigerated and frozen chicken products.
The company made the announcement during the 2016 Annual Meat Conference in Nashville.
The company said the move had been challenging, particularly in the turkey sector, where removing antibiotic use is more difficult. The statement also said Perdue had been working towards removing antibiotics for twelve years.
Eric Christianson, senior vice president of marketing and innovation, said the move represents a significant transformation in the market.
