Cobb Asia-Pacific Technical School Held in Macau, China

CHINA - More than 130 customers from all over Asia took part in the Cobb Asia-Pacific technical school in Macau, China, where over the four days training courses covered topics from grandparent selection through to broiler management and updates on the latest Cobb genetic improvements.

In welcoming the delegates Pelayo Casanovas, Cobb general manager for the Asia-Pacific region, said he hoped they would make new friends with people there while gaining further knowledge about the chicken business.

Thirty-five grandparent distributors and their parent stock customers were represented at the event which also provided an opportunity to better understand the genetic potential of the Cobb500.

Orlando Fernandz, Cobb Asian regional director of technical services, congratulated companies on their superior performance in 2015. He said: “Asian customers spoke highly of Cobb because of the technical service we provide on every level of the production chain. They prefer Cobb as the breed of choice for the Asian market.

“The top performing breeder flocks and companies with grandparent and parent stocks have surpassed the established Cobb breed standards at the end of the production cycle.”

Performance awards for grandparent and parent stock levels were presented during the banquet on the final night. Leong Hup of Maylaysia, CPF of Thailand, Islamabad of Pakistan, Wonokoyo of Indonesia, PT Bibit of Indonesia, Emivest of Vietnam and Bounty Fresh of Philippines were among the awarded companies.
