Aviagen Stand Was a Hub of Activity at EuroTier 201601 December 2016
GERMANY - EuroTier 2016 proved to be the perfect platform for Aviagen®’s global and regional teams to connect with customers, distributors and key industry contacts from across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The Aviagen stand was a hub of activity throughout the popular trade show, held Nov. 15-18, as customers came to meet members of Aviagen’s commercial, technical and R&D teams, as well as specialists including nutritionists and veterinarians.
Aviagen showcased all of its major brands at EuroTier including Arbor Acres®, Indian River® and Ross®. Slower-growing products continue to attract interest across Europe, so Aviagen also took the opportunity to discuss its Rowan Range®, which was introduced to meet growing demand.
Aviagen took part in several presentations on a range of poultry topics over the course of the show with Otto Van Tuijl, Aviagen EPI technical director, and Leonardo Linares, head of Aviagen’s European nutrition team, both guest presenters at organized forums.
Van Tuijl, who was invited to present by EuroTier organizer DLG, provided an overview of how genetic selection is benefiting the broiler market. The presentation focused on welfare and sustainability, while also touching on the slow-growing segment. Van Tuijl then joined Anne-Marie Neeteson, Aviagen’s global welfare director and Richard Hutchison, Aviagen Turkeys sales and marketing director, to present on the same subject, covering both turkeys and chickens, to an audience of German veterinarians at the Aviagen stand.
Linares, meanwhile, led a seminar discussion on protein digestibility in light of Aviagen’s focus on how nutrition strategies can improve performance. This event was organized by Hamlet Protein A/S, a US-based company specializing in young animal feed.
Patrick Claeys, president of Aviagen Europe, said, “EuroTier continues to be a primary poultry industry event across Europe and beyond and it was fantastic to see our network of technical service managers and specialists out in force. We are seeing fantastic product performance across our parent stock and broilers, which is greatly helping our customers, even through some challenging market conditions, by providing them with strong economic benefits. Our spread of production bases and hatcheries across Europe means we can ensure continuous supply regardless of market conditions. We are pleased to be in a position to offer this level of support to our customers.”
Finally, there was cause for celebration this year at EuroTier when Ghaleb Sayyed from Sayyed Poultry Farms, the Ross distributor in Syria, was honored for being a champion of the brand for 20 years. Aviagen CEO, Jan Henriksen, presented him with a Ross 60th award alongside Business Manager for the Middle East and Africa (MEA), Michael Garden and Ross Commerical Manager John Maguire.
Michael Garden commented, “In the MEA region we have many loyal distributors, like Ghaleb and customers, who have seen the benefit of the Ross brand over the last 60 years. Many of the countries in the Middle East and Africa are growing rapidly, which means there is an increase in demand for poultry as the animal protein of choice. EuroTier offered the perfect platform to meet and discuss opportunities with our distributors and customers in attendance.”
