New Appointments in Cobb Europe

EU - Two new appointments are announced by Cobb Europe — Russell Jones as commercial manager and Nigel Strain as broiler specialist for the region.

Russell Jones, who has 25 years’ experience in the livestock industry, will be responsible for all direct markets. Starting with a sales career in pig and poultry equipment, and then in nutrition and animal health, he later ran his own consulting business that focused on renewable energy and farm-scale anaerobic digestion.

Nigel Strain began working in the chicken industry in the early 1990s and progressed to management roles with major UK producers. Then in 2015 he spent a period as production director in the Bryansk area of Russia responsible for an integrated operation rearing 1.2 million broilers / week. He is also qualified as a training assessor up to NVQ level 3 standard.

In other Cobb Europe moves, Paul Welten has been appointed as breeder specialist and Patrick Van Trijp has returned to Western Europe as accounts manager responsible for distributors Cobb Germany, Broiler Budeshego and other grandparent operations in Russia, also retaining control of direct parent stock sales into the CIS region. As a result of this change, Irina Khamatshina will now lead the technical team in Russia and Irina Likhacheva will continue to head up the sales.
