CHI is the exclusive distributor of Arbor Acres® for the Nigerian market, one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies.

Tom Exley, president of Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA), and Michael Garden, business manager Middle East and Africa, met representatives from CHI, including Martin Middernacht, managing director, and Johannes Flosbach, corporate strategy and business development manager.

Aviagen and CHI, which is part of Tropical General Investment, used the meeting to discuss their current strategic approaches and latest business developments, as well as potential opportunities that could commercially benefit both companies in the future. During the visit, Exley presented Middernacht with a 10-year commemorative glass trophy as a token of Aviagen’s appreciation for CHI’s dedication over the years.

CHI has recently invested in a new state-of-the-art parent stock (PS) hatchery to satisfy the consistently growing demand for Arbor Acres Parent Stock for the Nigerian market. There are also plans to refurbish existing grandparent (GP) farms and any future expansion plans will include environmentally controlled, world-class GP farms.

Exley said, “The level of commitment CHI has shown to the Arbor Acres brand over the last decade has been nothing short of remarkable, with a 43 percent market-share growth in this period. CHI’s business loyalty and trust in Arbor Acres, Aviagen and our genetics has been fantastic and something we are very grateful for.”

Middernacht added, “We are confident that Arbor Acres delivers the right attributes for our customers at both parent and broiler level and the consistent growth of the Arbor Acres brand in the market is testament to the excellent product performance. We’d also like to thank Aviagen for the support from the company’s specialists and customer service teams, particularly with training programs that are especially vital for emerging farmers in the country.”
