Egg Prices Going up in Armenia

23 November 2017

ARMENIA - Chicken eggs imported by Arax chicken farm are sold in Armenia with an appropriate marking, Zhamanak reports.

ARKA News Agency reports that what is remarkable is that the imported eggs are sold at a two-time-higher price.

According Zhamanak, Armen Khachatryan, owner of another chicken farm, Baghramyan, brought eggs to Armenia he sold them at 30-40 drams per one egg ($0.06-0.08), while now they are sold at 60-70 drams ($0.12-0.14).

Also remarkable is the fact that authorities do not interfere in the situation because of egg shortage in the country, the newspaper says.
