"It's really exciting for us to be back at IPPE as we are every year, and it's always great to see all of our poultry colleagues throughout the world joining us here in Atlanta," Barbosa said. "Our theme this year is 'What Innovation Means to You'. We are bringing new products to the sector, and we're here to listen to our customers - what they see as innovation."

IPPE Highlights

For the past few years, the MSD Animal Health (known as Merck Animal Health in the US) team has met with producers, consultants and key opinion leaders at the show to discuss key issues regarding health, husbandry and processing, such as avian diagnostics, poultry building ventilation, disease diagnosis and pathology, broiler nutrition and management and gut immunology. Through their Step Up to Solutions program, the MSD Animal Healthteam interacts directly with customers to find solutions to their daily problems.

At the Expo, MSD Animal Health also hosts the fifth Annual Culinary Tour of Nations luncheon, where attendees have the opportunity to enjoy poultry dishes from different continents while networking with poultry production professionals from around the world. At the same ceremony, the Merck Animal Health Poultry PhD Fellowship Award Poultry Science award is also presented to a student dedicated to innovation.

New Product Innovations

"In our booth, we are celebrating the introduction of INNOVAX-ND-IBD. The first-ever dual construct HVT vaccine that will protect against Newcastle Disease, Infectious Bursal disease, and Marek's Disease in a single injection and EXZOLT, the first systemic treatment for red mites in poultry. So we're very happy and excited to bring these solutions to our customers," he said.

What's in the MSD Animal Health pipeline?

"As a company of Science for Healthier Animals, we're always looking for opportunities to help our customers to have healthier, happier and more productive animals," said Barbosa. "We are identifying these unmet needs and are excited about what the future can bring to us."
