Hy-Line International adds to technical service team

Hy-Line International, the world leader in layer poultry genetics, has added to its Southeast Asia team Ms. Princess Cortez as Technical Service Specialist. She will be based in the Philippines.

In this position, Ms. Cortez will conduct Hy-Line technical service activities in Southeast Asia, provide
technical support for Hy-Line PS customers, and collect commercial flock performance data from the field. She will also provide important feedback to our genetic research team that will allow for continual improvement of Hy-Line layers sold in Southeast Asia.

“Ms. Cortez has worked closely with Hy-Line Technical Services for the past three years in the Philippines on farms and with customers, specialising in nutrition,” said Dr. Douglas Grieve, Global Technical Services Director for Hy-Line International. “We are pleased she has joined forces with Mr. Tin Phung, Technical Services Manager, SEA, to provide greater technical service to our customers in Southeast Asia.”

Ms. Cortez earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, specialising in Poultry Nutrition, from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. In her work experience, she evaluated the chemical, nutritional and economical values of feeds, feed additives, nutritional supplements, medications, vaccines for commercial poultry, as well as initiated and facilitated nutrition evaluations and trials.

Founded in 1936 by Henry A. Wallace, Hy-Line was the first poultry breeding company to apply the principles of hybridisation to commercial layer breeding. Today, Hy-Line International continues to be a pioneer as the first company with its own in-house molecular genetics team leading the industry in application of DNA based technology to its breeding and genetics program. Hy-Line produces and sells both brown and white egg stock to more than 120 countries worldwide and is the largest selling layer in the American egg industry and around the world.
