Aviagen® recently joined poultry production and animal nutrition professionals from throughout the Americas to celebrate the industry’s first Latin American Poultry and Nutrition (LPN) Congress, which took place Oct. 23-25 in Miami. The Congress attracted close to 1,600 industry professionals from the disciplines of veterinary medicine, nutrition, incubation, broiler and breeder management and live production, and hosted 52 exhibitors from the poultry health and nutrition sectors.

Some of Aviagen’s top veterinary experts shared information on current industry hot topics, and the company featured its Ross® and Arbor Acres® brands of broiler breeding chickens.

Experts share latest knowledge

Dr Rodrigo Espinosa and Dr Jose J. Bruzual, members of Aviagen’s global veterinary support team, were chosen to speak during conference workshops due to their experience and in-depth knowledge of disease prevention, broiler and breeder health issues and quality management. They chose topics based on common challenges faced by customers.

Xavier Asensio, Technical Service Manager for Aviagen SAU (supplying Spain, Portugal and Morrocco), shared his knowledge on effective ventilation on breeding farms.

Additionally, Dr Gregorio Rosales, former vice president of Veterinary Services for Aviagen North America, Poultry Health Consultant, and Diplomate of the American College of Poultry Veterinarians served as moderator and spoke on biosecurity to help customers optimize poultry health and prevent the spread of disease.

Customers benefit from brand variety

Aviagen is known as a poultry genetics leader, and Ross and Arbor Acres are preferred by customers throughout Latin America for their feed efficiency, strong performance and excellent welfare, health and livability. Aviagen offers customers in the region and worldwide the industry’s largest selection of broiler breeder options to suit a range of market demands.

Aviagen also helps Latin American customers get the most from the high genetic potential of Ross and Arbor Acres breeders by supporting them with local service teams in every region where the company does business. These experts care about their customers and are dedicated to their success.

Opportunity for networking among industry colleagues

“The Congress was an ideal meeting to discuss up-to-date information and exchange experiences with our customers and industry leaders on a variety of relevant and current topics,” explained Dr. Bruzual.

“The level of interaction and camaraderie at the Congress was inspiring. Every chance to get together with our customers outside of their regular activities leads to thought-provoking discussions and often new discoveries, added Dr Espinosa.”

Dr Asensio also spoke on the value of the show to his team. “I enjoyed seeing the enthusiasm for our brands shown by many attendees I came into contact with. Of course, the highlight of the show was meeting global industry contacts. The information gathered from these meetings is important in helping us make continuous improvements in the quality of our support.”

“It was great to network and share the industry’s latest findings in poultry health with colleagues from many countries in Latin America. This first LPN Congress and important gathering of poultry industry minds was a large success, and I look forward to the next meeting in 2020,” concluded Dr. Rosales.
