Disease scare in Wicomico County leads to culling 40,000 chickens

USA, 18 December 2018 - After an inconclusive test for avian influenza, a commercial chicken farm in Wicomico County, Maryland depopulated 40,000 birds

"They're being cautious. They're doing exactly what they should be doing," explains local farmer Virgil Shockley.

Prevention is the key step in controlling the spread of disease between poultry flocks, with avian influenza being one of the most critical infections to stay on top of.
