UK fast food chains refute claims of low animal welfare

UK - Nando's and Subway said that it has never used caged chickens and Subway reiterates efforts to improve chicken welfare

After a report from World Animal Protection was released on 14 January 2019 condemning global fast food chains for poor chicken welfare, Nando's and Subway submitted statements refuting these claims to UK-based GlobalMeatNews.

Nando's emphasised that it has never used caged chickens, and Subway said it houses it's birds according to EU animal welfare legislation and is working with organisations such as Compassion in World Farming in Europe and the USA to improve its animal welfare.
