Print This Page Russia issues new certificates for poultry imports
RUSSIA - New certificates for poultry imports to Russia would be issued free of charge, as previously, the chief of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control, Sergei Dankvert, told Itar-Tass on Friday (Apr 28).Russia cancelled all import certificates last week due to numerous cases of non-compliance with Russian veterinary legislation and use of counterfeit documents, Dankvert explained. New permits would be issued under a simplified scheme, he added.
To get a certificate, importers would submit a copy of a previous request on the basis of which the previous permit was issued.
However, the agency would conduct checks to verify the quantities of imported meat for individual organisations this time round, Dankvert added.
The service would strive to complete re-registration in two weeks, he said.
