Print This Page Russian Poultry Slaughter Up 20% On Last Year
RUSSIA - Russia's Agriculture Ministry reports that poultry slaughters in Russia in the first half of this year were 19.1 per cent higher in terms of weight than in the same period last year, according to the Interfax news agency.
Russia produced 19.1 billion eggs in the January to June period, a year-on-year increase of 2.9 per cent.
Russia imported 582,60 tonnes of poultry meat worth USD384 million in the first half of this year, about the same as in the corresponding period in 2005.
