UK Poultry Meat: Production 120,000 Tonnes in March 2012
This release shows the latest monthly information on poultry outputs, including hatchery, slaughtering, production and trade statistics.
Key points
- UK broiler chick placings were 2.3 per cent higher than March 2011 at 70 million birds and UK turkey placings were 2.5 per cent higher than March 2011 at 1.1 million birds.
- UK broiler slaughterings were 2.4 per cent higher than March 2011 at 66 million birds. UK turkey slaughterings were 3.0 per cent higher than March 2011 at 1.0 million birds.
- UK poultry meat production was 120 thousand tonnes, 3.9 per cent higher than March 2011.
