Eggs in incubators, poults hatched and net poults placed in March, were all up from last year.
Eggs in Incubators on April 1 Up 2 Percent from Last Year
Turkey eggs in incubators on April 1, 2012, in the United States totaled 28.2 million, up 2 percent from April 1, 2011.
Eggs in incubators were down 3 percent from the March 1, 2012 total of 29.0 million eggs.
Poults Hatched During March Up 4 Percent from Last Year
Turkey poults hatched during March 2012, in the United States totaled 25.2 million, up 4 percent from March 2011.
Poults hatched were up 9 percent from the February 2012 total of 23.2 million poults.
Net Poults Placed During March Up 5 Percent from Last Year
The 24.8 million net poults placed during March 2012 in the United States were up 5 percent from the number placed during the same month a year earlier. Net placements were up 9 percent from the February 2012 total of 22.9 million.
