USDA Turkey Hatchery: Eggs in Incubators on July 1 Up 5 Percent from Last Year
Turkey eggs in incubators on July 1, 2012, in the United States totaled 30.6 million, up 5 percent from July 1, 2011. Eggs in incubators were up 1 percent from the June 1, 2012 total of 30.4 million eggs.
Poults Hatched During June Up 5 Percent from Last Year
Turkey poults hatched during June 2012, in the United States totaled 25.1 million, up 5 percent from June 2011. Poults hatched were down 2 percent from the May 2012 total of 25.5 million poults.
Net Poults Placed During June Up 4 Percent from Last Year
The 24.7 million net poults placed during June 2012 in the United States were up 4 percent from the number placed during the same month a year earlier. Net placements were down 1 percent from the May 2012 total of 25.1 million.
