Total United States (US) cumulative January-March fowl cut imports for 2014 are 1% lower than 2013, but have increased 250% since 2004 for comparable time frames.

Of total US January-March fowl cut imports for 2014, 11% were fresh and 89% were frozen. Total fresh fowl cut imports for January-March 2014 were 55% below 2013, however, they have increased 40% since 2004. Meanwhile, 2014 US total January- March frozen fowl cut imports increased 16% over 2013 and 332% since 2004. Canada has been the dominant source of US fresh fowl cut imports over the last 10 years. In 2004 the US imported all of its frozen fowl cuts from Canada. However, in 2008 the US started importing frozen fowl cuts from Chile and in 2014 of the total January-March imports 43% came from Chile.

Total US cumulative January-March fowl cut exports for 2014 are 3% above 2013 and 81% higher than 2004 for comparable time frames.

Of total US January-March 2014 fowl cut exports, 15% was fresh. Total fresh January-March 2014 fowl cut exports are 12% above 2013 and up 238% since 2004 for comparable time frames. The majority of exports over the last 10 years have gone to Mexico and Canada. Total US frozen January-March 2014 fowl cut export are 1% above 2013 and 67% higher than 2004. The top 5 frozen fowl cut export destinations to date in 2014 have been Hong Kong,
Angola, Russia, China and Mexico.

Even though total US January-March 2014 fresh whole fowl exports are 8% above 2013, they are 76% below 2010 and 25% below 2004 for Comparable time frames. Frozen US whole fowl January-March 2014 exports dropped 36% from 2013, but are 55% higher than 2010 and 60% 2004 below for comparable time frames.
