Print This Page Consultation on changes to the Veterinary Medicines Regulations
UK - New Veterinary Medicines Regulations came into force on 30 October 2005. To keep these regulations and their fees up to date, the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) pledged to review, revoke and re-make these regulations annually. This was accomplished in 2006 with the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2006 coming into force on 1 October that year.
This year's review, taken in conjunction with key stakeholders, has identified the need for amendments to provide increased clarity and to ensure that the regulations remain fit for purpose.
A formal consultation on these proposed changes will run for twelve weeks from today, Thursday 1 st March.
The full consultation papers can be seen at:
http://www.vmd.gov.uk/publications/consultations/current.htm
The consultation period closes on: Thursday 24th May.
